IFC kicked off the 2018/2019 PIBFAL with a big win versus new boys Salt Miners FC.

10’ IFC were incorrectly awarded a penalty when Philbin went down after getting a smack in the face whilst challenging a defender. Philbin argued with the referee that it should not have even given, the referee insisted so Philbin tapped the ball back to the SMFC goalkeeper instead of shooting.

15’ 1-0: Neil ‘play me upfront boss’ Lowe scored with a bullet header from a Roberts corner.

Roberts saw a fierce shot hit a defender’s face before ricocheting off the keepers legs on the line and away from danger. Fanthorpe flashed a shot into the side netting.

44’ 1-1: SMFC were rewarded for their constant quick breaks when a free kick hit the wall and fell to an unmarked player who tapped the ball home to equalize.

50’ 2-1: IFC’s determined start to the 2nd half paid off when Jalloul scored after good work by Fanthorpe.

55’ 3-1: An exquisite pass over the top from Sellers inside his own half was lobbed over the onrushing goalkeeper by Jalloul.

60’ 4-1: Jalloul completed a 15 minute hat trick when he scored a cracker from the edge of the box into the top corner of the net.

70’ 5-1: Philbin slotted home nicely after good work by Fanthorpe on the left.

80’ 6-1: Jalloul scored his 4th and final goal of the game (as he was substituted straight after scoring) after another good pass from Fanthorpe.

85’ 7-1: Roberts completed the scoring after tapping a rebound after good work by Lowe and Savant on the right wing.
